Cards created using CURIOUS METALLICS

We would like to introduce you to Heidi Boudouris from Pana, Illinois.
Heidi writes the following about herself: "  I am a stay-at-home Mom of 4 beautiful girls. I sure have my hands full, but they are wonderful! My husband is a high school teacher and basketball coach."
Heidi created these great looking cards and tag using Curious Metallic CardStock from CutCardStock.com.  We have many new colors in the Curious Metallic line and you will get to see how nice they look in the cards designed by Heidi.  She also included a little write up about the cards she created.

Pumpkin card:
First I cut the Curious Metallic WHITE GOLD 92 # cardstock in half to make an 8 ½ by 5 ½ inch card.  I scored the card in half longways to create a perfect fold.  Then folded the card in half.
Secondly I cut the Mandarin Curious Metallic 80# text paper to 4 by 5 ¼ inches.   I then stamped the mandarin paper with leaves (using the Fall Whimsy stamp set from Stampin Up!) using an olive colored ink.
Next I stamped a pumpkin (from the Fall Whimsy stamp set) onto Curious Metallic WHITE GOLD 92 # cardstock using orange and olive colored inks.  I then cut that cardstock to 2 ¾ by 1 7/8 inches.
I adhered the pumpkin stamped cardstock to a piece of mandarin 80# text at a size of 3 by 2 1/8 inches.
Finally, I adhered that piece to a piece of white gold 92 # cardstock at a size of 3 ¼ by 2 3/8 inches.

Flower Tag:
First I cut a piece of Curious Metallic LIME 111# Card Stock, on a cricut machine, in the shape of a tag that is 3 ½ inches tall (shadowed).  Then I cut a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic 92 # Cover, on a cricut machine, in the shape of a tag that is 3 ½ inches tall.
I then adhered the two tags together.  I then cut a flower, on the cricut, using Mandarin Curious Metallic 111# cover paper.  I put a silver brad in the center of the flower.  Next, I cut out two leaves on the Curious Metallic LIME 111# cover paper and adhered to the tag.  I drew “stitching” around the leaves, flower and edge of the tag.
Finally, I cut a piece of ribbon and tied it to the tag.

Watermelon Card:
First I cut a piece of Curious Metallic LIME 111# Cover paper in half to make the paper 8 ½ by 5 ½ inches.  I them scored the paper in half longways and folded to make a perfect card.
I cut a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic 92# cover to 4 by 5 ¼ inches.  I cut the corners with a “ticket” style paper cutter.
Then I cut out the base of the watermelons, on the cricut machine,  in Curious Metallic LIME 111 # Cover paper.  I  cut out the center of the watermelon in Curious Metallic RED LACQUER 111# Cover paper.  I punched holes in the watermelon centers with a hole punch and added black eyelets to look like seeds.  I glued all the pieces together and then adhered to the card.  I then cut out the word “summer” in the Red Lacquer 111# Cover paper on the cricut machine.  I adhered the word to the card.
Finally, I drew “stitching around the inside of the watermelon and the edge of the card.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU To HEIDI for sharing her talent with us!  Be sure to browse more of her creations at her store SIMPLY STAMPED.

  1. I love the metallics and thankfully our local store carries it. It just makes the cards look so much better. Great cards this week as well.
