Giving Thanks Invitation

Giving Thanks Together
Thanksgiving may just be one of my favorite holidays. It's a time to be around people you love, eat until you are silly, and take a moment to be thankful for all the blessings that we have. It's a wonderful pause in the midst of what most of us would call a busy life. For your viewing pleasure today is an invitation for Thanksgiving, you can tailor it to your special festivities:
Begin with a folded invitation from CutCardStock.com and die cut the card elements. With the Grand Calibur's larger size, it makes it easy to get all the cutting done in one pass. I used 2 patterned papers along with 2 Curious Metallic papers, including Poison Ivory and Olive.
Then change out your mats according to the machine directions and emboss all of the die templates. Choose some chalk inks and stencil through the dies.

Since these templates have fairly small openings, I also used a stencil brush to go over the dies in a circular motion to really get the colors into the die cut holes and well blended. Then I used the stencil brush on the edges of the tag, the border and the card for a bit of an earthy look.
Weave a ribbon into the top "pearl" edge of the oval. Add a ribbon to the tag.
Add letter stickers to the tag for "together." Create a tag for "Give Thanks" and add letter stickers to it.
Cut a Curious Metallic Super Gold Mat 6x4-1/4" and scallop cut the corners as shown in the second photo below.
Adhere all elements to card. Be sure to tuck the satin ribbon under the gold matting for a finished look. The following picture shows some of the shine of the metallic papers.
Sometimes when we create, it doesn't always come out the way we planned. When I put the elements together on the front, I didn't see a need for the pumpkin and leaf on the front, so I put them inside. A nice addition, I think.

As we approach the month of November, give yourself permission to take a few minutes with a cup of tea or coffee, relax and be thankful.
