Getting Ready to Gobble

The biggest dinner party of the year will soon be upon us and wouldn't it be nice to have a hostess gift ready to go?  I always think a nice bottle of wine or sparkling apple cider makes a great gift, so I thought I'd "kick it up a notch" and really put a Thanksgiving spin on it.
Gobble, gobble!
Here's a quick and fabulous bottle tag with a nice little pocket for a special goody, gift card or other extra treat.  The pattern for the bottle pocket tag is from the online Silhouette store and I cut it with my Cameo.  I made the original tag and pocket a little bigger to fit a larger bottle.
I started with orange Basis cardstock, which just so happens to be on sale this month at CutCardStock.com.  I also cut a 2" x 3.75" piece of Neenah Classic Crest in Solar White for the stamped image, pulled several scrap pieces of patterned paper from my stash, and broke out the new Subway Series: Holidays clear stamp set from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.

After cutting out the tag piece and the pocket piece, I stamped the Thanksgiving subway art-style image in Rich Cocoa ink from Memento onto the Neenah cardstock.
Next I cut strips of patterned paper in widths from .75" to 1" and adhered them to the side of my stamped image.  Then I trimmed the end of each strip either diagonally or notched to create fun pennants or flags.

I edged this element with some Distress Ink in Antique Linen to give it a bit of an aged look and then adhered it to the front of the pocket.  I folded the pocket's edges at the score marks and adhered it to the bottle tag.

For the photo I put a fall themed napkin into the pocket.  When I give this to my hostess, I'll likely include a couple old fashioned candy sticks and maybe a fun recipe she can use after Thanksgiving dinner!  This was an easy project to make and I think I'll use this same fun stamp image for a card to give to another lucky person this Thanksgiving.  Here's to a safe, relaxing day filled with all the things written on the subway art stamped image!  Have a happy Thanksgiving and ...gobble, gobble!
