Teacher Note Cards and Washi Pencil

I'm always a little torn this time of year.  I'm loving having my boys at home all day and we have stayed so busy this summer doing lots of fun things, but I'm also looking forward to getting them back into school!  We have a few weeks left, but it's not too early to be thinking about little gifts to create for the teachers.  Here's a set of notecards and a washi-tape wrapped pencil that I whipped up for a little gift....

I gathered my supplies:

Starting on a diagonal, I wrapped my No.2 in washi tape.  I tried not to overlap the tape too much, but enough to give the pencil good coverage.  At the end, I was left with a little over hang on both ends of the pencil, so I just sliced it off clean with my rotary cutter.

I used A1 flat cards as my notecard base, and cut the layering pieces to stack on top.

I glued the A1 card and mustard layers, and then the red pepper and patterned layers together using the Mono multi adhesive.

A last minute additional of some black and white bakers twine was added before I attached the red/patterned paper layer using 3D foam tabs.

This little set of cards and the pencil will just be a thoughtful something for the teacher!
