Glam up that envelope

Hey everyone!  Nicole here on the blog today.  Every once in awhile there is that special someone in your life that requires not just any card, but a very special birthday card.  I have such a person who is celebrating a birthday in a couple of weeks - my grams.  She is turning the big 80!  I really wanted her birthday card to be special this year, but what better way to present that card then with a special envelope as well.



I started with a brown bag envelope in kraft.  I lightly attached a few die-cuts, cut with my Silhouette, over the top of the envelope with a little adhesive.  I picked just a few spots since the die-cut will be removed.


Using some gold spray paint I sprayed a good layer over the whole envelope front.  



Leave to dry for about 20 minutes and then remove the die-cuts carefully from the envelope.  The next step is adding a bit of color.  I chose some watercolor pencils and traced around the flowers and leaves.  


Once you've added the color where you want wet a paintbrush and go over the colors spreading the color out.  I loved this part it reminded me of those "just add water" coloring books I had when I was little.  :)

I also used the same technique on my card and then added embellishments over the top. 

I'm excited to give this to my grams in a few week.  Hope you try this very simple way to give your envelope a little extra attention.   Thanks for stopping by the blog today.
