Zig Pearlescent Watercolor Paint

Hello! And welcome to today's CutCardStock.com post. It's Kristie Larsen here to share with you a special something using a new product to CutCardStock. Let me introduce you to whats bound to be your your new crafty item: Zig Pearlescent Watercolor paints!

I made a few cards using these amazing watercolors. I really LOVED using them. They are so shimmery and can be a soft pastel or strong jewel tones depending on how much you use. I had a hard time not painting everything on my desk! Let me show you what I did.

I started with some white Teton Deckled edge card stock. I trimmed it to an A2 size card front and scored it to fold, but waited to crease it. I heat embossed my lace image twice with a light yellow embossing powder. I did it once in the lower left hand corner and then once in the top so that half of the image would be stamped on the back of the card when it is finally folded. I thought it would be a fun little detail for the overall look of the card. Using a water brush (also found in the store) and my new Zig Pearlescent Watercolor paint pallete I started placing color in-between the embossed sections. This is a fun way to bring some vibrance to your intricate stamp images. You can see here how I added color to both images until it was the way I wanted it.

Here is a close up of the shimmer you get with these paints. They go on so smoothly and they are really lovely to look at. They also blend well. I opted to add two different colours for the green sections and some purple, red and pink colours for the flower.

Then it was just a matter of adding a sentiment. I stamped my HELLO onto some translucent paper and fussy cut it out. I adhered it with some runners tape.

This card goes together so fast that all the fun is in the painting!

I decided it was too pretty not to do a dark one as well. You can see the same design and layout, just different with the black card base. I used the Esse Black Textured card stock for my card base. It's nice and thick and doesn't warp with the water.

I also chose to add the design to the outside of an envelope as well. This is the A7 black envelope. It helps make it a fun card to open! I used a lot more paint on these and you can see how vibrant it can get. I like that you can get different looks out of one paint pallet and I LOVE the shimmer. It's definitely a fun item to have in your craft arsenal! Check it out in the store HERE.

And, just so you know, there will be a fun giveaway where you can win your own Zig Pearlescent Watercolor pallete! Stay tuned for the info from Amber!

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a great start for this new month. Be sure to check out the store for new sales for April!
See you next week.
xoxo
