Hot Cocoa Wedding Favors

Hi again!  It's Annie back with a cute favor idea for those winter or Christmastime weddings.  I was married (several years ago) just a week before Christmas because I love the season so much, but I tied the knot in the Caribbean so there were no fun winter favors anywhere!  Had I gotten married back in the States, though, this is the type of favor I had always planned on giving.

I used a ton of different CutCardStock products in these favors because I wanted to show you several different color combinations.  Each favor incorporates one glitter, one translucent, and one Pop Tone cardstock in different combos - red and white, green and gold, and white and silver.

I started by die-cutting all of the different parts of my favor box.  The snowflake box bases were cut from Wild Cherry, Jellybean Green, and Sweet Tooth Pop Tones Cardstock.  Curious Translucent Iridescent Pearl (red favor), Iridescent Gold (green favor), and Iridescent Silver (white favor) were used for the windows, while Opulant Opal (red favor), Gold (green favor), and Silver (white favor) glitter cardstocks were used for the outer accent pieces.

You'll want to glue the translucent panels to the inside of your favor boxes using a strong liquid glue like Tombow Mono Multi-purpose Liquid Glue.

Glue the glitter accent pieces to the outside of the favor boxes using liquid glue or tape runner as well.

Fill plastic favor bags with several scoops of hot chocolate powder topped with lots of mini marshmallows.  You can tie the bag shut with pretty ribbon or just use nice twist-ties like I did here.

After placing a bag of cocoa in each favor, tie them shut with some polyester satin ribbon that coordinates with the rest of the accent pieces.

To create the tags, I die-cut several small flag shapes from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and stamped a cute sentiment using Versamark ink.  Then, I added either gold or silver embossing powder to the tag and melted it with my heat tool.

I opted to keep the tags simple so that they were easy to reproduce and wouldn't compete with the intricate favor boxes.  Looking for other great sentiments to go with your hot cocoa favors?  Try "Warmest Thanks" or "You Warm Our Hearts".

Attach your tags to the appropriate box (gold with gold, silver with silver) and you have a gorgeous wedding favor that is sure to make your guests happy!  I hope you enjoyed this project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to visit the CutCardStock store to purchase any of the supplies showcased today!
