Making a Glittery Multi-Purpose Card

Does glitter paper scare you? It scares me - it’s usually messy with pieces flaking off and glitter getting everywhere. And you know once you have the glitter, there’s no getting rid of it. :)

Usually, I stick to Pow! Glitter Paper even though it's more of a glittery foil instead of actual glitter. It's not as sparkly, but it gets the job done.

BUT - I have to tell you about the particular glitter paper I used for this card. I really thought it was going to be the flaky kind. It’s not. And it is super glittery to boot, just like if you made it with loose glitter and adhesive. It’s my new go-to for when I want to create glitter embellishments!

Today’s card is super easy to make, so I don’t have a lot of photos for you. The beauty of this card is you can change out the papers and sentiment and use it for several different occasions: Mother’s Day, birthdays, graduation, even the holidays.

You will need:
Make an A2-size (4 1/4 x 5-inch) card base out of the aqua paper, then cut a 4 x 5 1/4-inch rectangle out of the scraps. Emboss the rectangle with the embossing folder and set these aside.

Next, cut a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8-inch rectangle from the silver glitter paper. Die-cut your bow as well. I was ecstatic that this paper didn’t even flake after running it through my Big Shot. It’s a keeper, I tell ya. Stock up! Also, please excuse my craft mat. It's well-loved :)

From the glitter paper scraps, cut a 1/2-inch strip and a frame-style tag. Then, die-cut a small stitched tag from the white cardstock. Stamp your sentiment on the white tag and overlay the glitter frame tag with some liquid glue.

Now, to put the whole thing together! Layer your embossed rectangle over the glitter rectangle and adhere with glue tape. Wrap your 1/2-inch strip around the panel and use more glue tape to secure the ends on the back. Adhere your bow in the center and add the sentiment tag. All done! Easy-peasy, right?
