Celebrate with Glitter!

Hello creative friends! Happy Wednesday. And happy April! I can't believe we are nearly halfway through the month already. Supposedly it's spring, but here in Chicagoland we are still seeing snowflakes and very chilly temps. I guess it's keeping me inside and focused on work, which is a good thing?! Speaking of, at this time of year I get many requests for religious event invitations. For this particular design, I thought I'd add a extra dose of sweetness with accents of POW Glitter Paper in gold

I live in a house of boys, so I jump on any opportunity to add a little girliness to my life (I actually just painted my office PINK!). And glitter paper certainly is girly! But what I love about the POW paper is that it's what I would consider a "sophisticated" glitter. It has a fine texture - not flashy or garish. It's elegant enough to even use for accents on a wedding invitation. (You can see an up-close shot of the texture in the image below - isn't it fabulous?)

Confetti continues to be a popular theme in invitation and stationery design, and of course it's so celebratory! For this concept, I simply punched out the glitter dots with standard hole punch tool, and cut out the crosses with an X-acto knife.  In addition to the POW glitter paper, I also used the Savoy Bright White 100% Cotton Card Stock for the invitation base. I love, love, love Savoy Cotton card stock, but I'll save that story for another post. ;) And of course, a fun envelope color is a must, so I went with a Pop-Tone Spearmint with a liner in the glitter paper. Is that fun or what?

Look at the dimension the cut-outs add to the invite! It really adds such a special touch to the design.

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today! Hope you have a great rest of your week and make time for creativity. :) XOXO, Erin @eringermandesign
